Piran is an ancient small town from the Middle Ages, a coastal town at the northwesternmost point of Istria.Written sources mention that the first settlement of Piran was ruined by Atila-the king of the Huns people in the 5th century. In the 7th century there was the first system of fortifications around the town. In the 13th century Piran came under the control of the Venetians and the town developed and expanded. Because of its geographical position, the town has a difficult history, on the other hand it used to benefit from seaborn trade. Over the centuries the citizens have made their living by fishing and handcrafts. They have dealt with wine trade, salt trade (nearby salt pans), the sale of olive oil and grain coming from the countryside.Piran is well-known for its cultural heritage and for centuries it has inspired artists who have left their mark on the town. The most well-known was the violonist and mathematician Giuseppe Tartini who was born here and the main square has been named after him. In the ground floor there is a mini fitness (room bycicle and some other equipment), infra sauna, massage shower, two deck-chairs for relax. On the top of the house there is a roof terrace which is a typical for the town Piran. From there you have brilliant view of the sea, main church, city wall and green hinterland of Piran. At the ground floor of the house in Prežihova 4, we have prepared a wellness room that can be used when the sun is not strong enough or when the strong wind Burja is roaring outside. Nelle immediate vicinanze c'e' una tabaccheria, un supermercato, una chiesa, dei bar, una pizzeria, Piran ist ein altertümliches, dicht bebautes Städtchen mit erhalten gebliebenem mittelalterlichem Erscheinungsbild und ein attraktiver Ferienort am äußersten Rand von Nordwestistrien.Die erste an diesem Ort stehende Siedlung soll der Hunnenkönig Attila Mitte des 5. Jh. zerstört haben. Geschichtsquellen erwähnen im 7. Jh. an der Stelle der heutigen Stadt ein befestigtes Castrum. Nach der Besetzung durch die Venezianer im 13. Jh. erfuhr die Stadt ihren Aufschwung und folglich auch eine beachtliche Ausdehnung. Der Stadt wurde wegen ihrer Lage eine wechselvolle Geschichte zuteil und andererseits wurde eben dadurch die Entwicklung des Seehandels ermöglicht. Die Stadtbevölkerung lebte mehrere Jahrhunderte vor allem von Fischerei und Handwerk. Es wurde Handel mit dem in nahegelegenen Salinen gewonnenen Salz und zudem auch mit Olivenöl, Wein und Getreide aus furchtbarem Hinterland getrieben. Die Stadt war zudem auch ein Umschlagsplatz für Produkte aus Krain und Westkroatien sowie aus Italien.Piran zeichnet sich durch sein reiches Kulturerbe aus und gibt somit unermessliche Möglichkeiten und Inspirationen zahlreichen Künstlern, die ihrerseits ihr Gepräge der Stadt verliehen haben. Wohl der berühmteste unter ihnen ist der in Piran geborene Geigenvirtuose und Mathematiker Giuseppe Tartini, nach dem auch der zentrale Stadtplatz benannt wird.
